About
Eligible Organizations
Applicants must be incorporated as a nonprofit organization physically located in Nebraska with articles of incorporation current and on file with the Nebraska Secretary of State's office.
Special Eligibility Notes
- Colleges and universities may apply only when there is significant planning and participation beyond the campus community and projects are not part of student coursework
- Government agencies, tribal governments, schools, and nonprofit non-arts organizations may apply to support arts projects
- Religious and faith-based organizations may apply if the primary purpose of the program is artistic expression, activities are open to the general public, and funds are not used for projects with implicit religious content advancing a religious purpose or attempting conversion
Who Cannot Apply
Individuals are not eligible to apply for NAC grants, though the agency has programs designed to support Nebraska artists.
Required Documentation
- Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN) from the IRS letter granting federal tax-exempt status
- DUNS Number from Dun & Bradstreet
- Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) from sam.gov (required starting April 22, 2022)
Tax-Exempt Status Verification
Nonprofit organizations filing Form 990 are listed on Guidestar. Organizations with budgets under $25,000 that have not filed Form 990 will not be listed. Confirm your organization's Nebraska incorporation status through the Secretary of State's website.
Grantee Responsibilities
NAC grant recipients have additional legal responsibilities, including compliance with auditing procedures and other requirements as detailed in Grantee Info.
