Overview
TOURBUS EUROPA is a European collaboration co-funded by Creative Europe, exploring new ways of organizing international touring and collaboration in the field of contemporary and experimental music. The programme uses data-informed insights to identify potential touring routes, connections, and opportunities across Denmark, Sweden, and Germany.
Who Can Apply
Two parallel open calls seek participants based in Denmark, Sweden, or Germany: (1) 15 artists and ensembles working in contemporary, experimental, or newly composed music; and (2) 15 independent venues or organizers (max 5 from each country).
Artist & Ensemble Requirements
- Work within contemporary, experimental, or newly composed music
- Have had international activity (concerts, collaborations, residencies) within past 3 years, or actively seeking to expand internationally
- Not fully dependent on established booking structures; open to new ways of building connections
- Interested in reflecting on how you make decisions about touring and collaborations
- Have flexibility to explore new opportunities
- Can be solo performer, ensemble, composer-performer, or project-based constellation
Venue & Organizer Requirements
- Present or programme contemporary, experimental, or newly composed music
- Have experience with or interest in international artists
- Have influence on programming decisions
- Open to engaging with artists and opportunities beyond existing networks
- Have some flexibility in future programming
- May be venue, festival, curated concert series, or independent presenter
Program Structure
- 3–4 group workshops
- 1–2 reflection sessions
- Testing selected ideas in your own organisation
- Exchange with venues and artists across Denmark, Sweden, and Germany
- Four learning sessions from October 2026 to April 2027 (exact dates to be announced)
Award
Selected participants/groups will receive a participation stipend of €800 to compensate for the required time to engage fully in the program and prepare for each workshop.
