Overview

R.A.R.O. Barcelona invites artists of all nationalities and disciplines to develop their projects within a shared environment at Casa R.A.R.O. — a multidisciplinary space for artistic production, research, exchange, and experimentation in the heart of Barcelona. Each residency concludes with an Open Studio, offering artists the opportunity to share their process and work with the public.

Residency Dates

• Option 1: August 31st to September 25th, 2026
• Option 2: October 5th to 30th, 2026
• Option 3: November 2nd to 27th, 2026

Eligibility

Open to artists of any nationality and any stage of career. Spouses/partners and children allowed for full stay (non-collaborators may apply as individuals or teams).

Residency Details

• Duration: 3 weeks to 2 months
• Disciplines: Ceramics/clay, drawing, installation, mixed media, painting, printmaking, sculpture, textile arts, video, performance, and other visual/interdisciplinary work
• Studios: Private and shared studios available
• Space: Over 300 m² located in central Barcelona
• Accommodation: Not provided; assistance available to find affordable artist-minded housing
• Meals: Not provided

Expectations

All artists are expected to participate in a final Open Studio presentation of their work and engage with fellow residents.
