Overview
The Writers in Schools Scheme part-funds visits by writers and storytellers to primary and post-primary schools throughout the island of Ireland. It is funded by the Arts Council and managed by Poetry Ireland. Established in 1977, it is one of the longest running national arts-in-education programmes in Ireland.

Who may apply

Funding
Schools pay €100. The scheme funds the balance plus travel expenses. Maximum award is €250 (as of 2025).
