Get matched →Since 2017, Mécènes du Sud, a collective of companies in Montpellier-Sète-Béziers, has supported contemporary creation. Each year, the organization launches a call for exhibition curator projects, open to curators to conceive an exhibition across two levels of their space. Selected exhibitions will be programmed between late May and early September 2027.
Curators are encouraged to propose projects that go beyond a simple thematic approach. Projects must demonstrate an original and forward-thinking methodology linked to the curator's research, and prioritize an experimental and stimulating approach for invited artists. Curators must account for the unique characteristics of the space, including room dimensions, ceiling heights, and access. Technical plans and documents are available.
A budget of €15,000 covers exhibition-related expenses including: curator conception, travel, fees (honoraries, per diem, local costs), artist honoraries, per diem and travel, production costs, artwork transportation (round-trip), exhibition setup and installation, event management including opening reception, insurance (if exhibition total value exceeds €77,000), and communication/press relations. A preliminary budget will be defined between the organization and curator before contract signature. Additional funding may be sought by the curator with the executive director's support.
