For its fifth edition, Archipel Art Contemporain (Saint-Gervais les Bains), the contemporary art center - la synagogue de Delme (Atelier-résidence de Lindre-Basse), and Lumière d’Encre (Céret) are partnering to support, host, and accompany an artist-author's project. The three structures are located near a border and maintain a particular relationship with one or more neighboring territories. They invite an artist to explore the unique aspects of these sometimes ambiguous proximities, the relationships with these sometimes close and distant territories, and the territorial, linguistic, administrative, or symbolic borders that need to be considered, tamed, or crossed. The artist will be successively hosted by the three partner structures during 2027. The residency periods will allow for the development of research in diverse environments and contexts, benefiting from personalized support from the host teams. Works created during the residency will be exhibited at Archipel Art Contemporain starting in February 2028.
