Get matched →The Pavillon de l’Arsenal is launching its first international residency in partnership with Quebec. This cross-residency, associating the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) and the Fondation Grantham pour l’art et l’environnement, will allow artists or architects to stay in both countries to conduct research whose practices fall within visual arts or architectural research. It offers a privileged framework to deepen a project, foster critical reflection, and establish links with professionals, institutions, and actors in artistic, architectural, and territorial environments. This three-year program aims to support a total of six laureates, three French and three Quebecois. At the end of this cycle, a cross-exhibition will be presented between France and Quebec.
In the current context of transforming living environments, the residency invites candidates to question the relationships between artistic creation, architecture, environment, and territories, whether urban, peripheral, peri-urban, or rural. Proposed projects may address issues related to habitability, built forms, ecological changes, resources, materials, uses, common spaces, landscapes, or ways of conceiving, representing, and transforming living environments in an era of environmental disruption.
The selected French architect or artist will stay at the Fondation Grantham and Marcel Saint-Pierre house as part of a collaboration with the City of Laval. The Fondation Grantham can accommodate one person or a couple, but not families. Families are welcome during the stay in Laval. In reciprocity, the Quebec artist or architect will be in residence at Les Récollets (Paris 10).
The grant is aimed at architects, urban planners, designers, and artists whose work addresses architectural, territorial, and environmental issues. The application is not restricted to French nationals. Professionals residing and practicing in France for several years, regardless of their nationality, are welcome to apply. This residency program is primarily based on an exchange between two Francophone territories, France and Quebec. The candidate must therefore have a good knowledge of the French cultural and professional context.
The Pavillon de l’Arsenal provides a grant of 10,000 € to the person who commits to staying in Quebec during the residency. 5,000 € is intended to support expenses related to the stay, including international transport, personal insurance, living expenses, as well as research, experimentation, or realization costs related to the project.

The selection of the two grantees will be made by a Franco-Quebec selection committee.
