The Contemporary Print is PrintAustin's 14th annual juried international exhibition, presented in collaboration with The Art Galleries (TAG) at Austin Community College. The exhibition surveys traditional printmaking techniques and innovative approaches in contemporary printmaking. The juror is Lauren Rosenblum, The Print Center's Jensen Bryan Curator.

  • Open to local, national, and international artists 18 years or older
  • Work must use printmaking as sole or primary technique (lithography, relief, intaglio, silkscreen, photopolymer plate, monotype)
  • Non-traditional or digital output accepted as print element, but solely digital and photographic prints are not eligible
  • Work cannot exceed 72 inches (183 cm) in any direction, unless an installation
  • Works previously exhibited in The Contemporary Print are not eligible
  • Artists accepted into 2025 The Contemporary Print are ineligible
  • Submit 3-6 images, with up to 3 videos allowed
  • Total submission: minimum 3, maximum 6 assets
  • Artists may enter multiple images/detail images for installations or 3-D works
  • August 1: Call opens
  • October 31, 2026: Registration deadline (11:59 PM MT)
  • November 1: Juror begins selection
  • November 20: Email notifications sent
  • January 9, 2027: Artwork due
  • Exhibition: January 21 - March 20, 2027

Best in Show receives $500 in cash and a podcast interview by Hello, Print Friend (English or Spanish).

For the Austin exhibit, artist receives 70% commission, while PrintAustin retains a 30% commission on sales to support PrintAustin's programming.
