Kaaysá Art Residency offers a 24-day summer program of interaction, collaboration, and exchange between artists and their surroundings at Boiçucanga beach in Brazil. The residency is coordinated by Brazilian curator Renato de Cara with participation from curators, artists, and educators.

The theme is "E agora... And now..." - imagining futures while reflecting and acting in the present. The residency explores relationships with nature and the environment, sustainability, identity, education, indigenous communities, and current challenges such as the pandemic and climate change.

Forest expeditions with biologist, island visits, facilitation for visiting Guarani indigenous reserve (Aldeia do Rio Silveira), and visit to the historical city of São Sebastião. These activities have an extra cost (average R$50.00 per person) and require registration and minimum number of participants.

Artists should present their portfolio to the curator and other artists. There is no obligation to present artwork at the end of the residency.

US$1,000 (equivalent). Kaaysá is an independent organization with no public or private support. Selected artists can request a letter of acceptance to use for fundraising with their network, collectors, government institutions, and foundations.
