La Casa Móvil is a self-managed artist residency fostering care, community connection, and contemporary art in rural contexts. The program emphasizes personal and social awareness, collaborative practice, and accessibility, welcoming artists from any discipline whose proposals align with these values.

  • Dates: November 16–23, 2026
  • Application deadline: November 1, 2026

Residency takes place in Algodonales, Spain. La Casa Móvil accommodates up to 4 artists simultaneously in spacious private bedroom-studios with en-suite bathrooms. Facilities include a common workspace/exhibition area, dedicated workshop space, connection to EcoAlbergue de Algodonales (with large room for body work and outdoor growing areas), and access to the Municipal Art Museum exhibition hall. The house features WiFi, interior courtyard with pool, fully equipped kitchen, and outdoor work areas.

Visual arts, textile art, small-scale sculpture, ceramics, dance, theater, performance, music, writing, illustration, educational programs, and new media. All artistic disciplines welcome provided proposals align with La Casa Móvil's philosophy and approach.

Each resident must present a workshop proposal to be conducted with local residents and/or specific community groups. The workshop may be part of the creative process. All work created during the residency must have a collaborative and networked approach. Residents will exhibit their work during an Open Doors day on the final Sunday of the stay, sharing their creative process and residency experience with the community.

Residency cost is €420 per week. Artists receive a discount from La Casa Móvil covering part of this cost, leaving €350 + 10% tax (€385 total) per artist. A €75 deposit is required at registration and deducted from the total payment. This covers accommodation, workspace use, heating, water, mentorship, and one individual art therapy session. Does not include meals, travel to/from residency, medical insurance, art materials, artistic production, or daily living expenses.
