Funding for artist residencies - Nordic Culture Point

Overview

Funding for artist residencies that invite artists to practice their art and create contacts in the Nordic and Baltic regions. The programme promotes artistic and cultural cooperation, exchange of knowledge, contacts, and presence in Nordic and Baltic art and culture.

Who Can Apply

Established residential centres, organisations, and institutions with at least one year's documented experience of organising artist residencies within the arts and cultural sector, located in the Nordic Region or Baltic countries.

Eligibility Requirements

• Apply to invite professional artists from two or more other Nordic or Baltic countries (outside the centre's home country)
• Artists must have documented experience or training in art/culture
• Invited artists must have permanent address in Nordic or Baltic country
• No retroactive funding; activities must begin at least eight weeks after application deadline
• Nordic–Baltic Mobility Programme cannot be the only source of funding for the centre

What is Funded

Funding covers costs arising from artist residential stays, including travel expenses, subsistence, remuneration to artists, and other direct costs. Budget may include up to 15% for administrative expenses.

Project Duration

Residencies may run during the calendar year of application submission plus two additional calendar years. Although stays can be any length, two to four months is recommended.

Funding Amount

Maximum EUR 50,000 per project. Budget template must be used; costs must be clearly specified.

• Statutes of the organisation/entity
• Sustainability policies including non-discrimination, gender equality, and safe work environment policies

Assessment Criteria

Applications are assessed based on the centre's existing regional and international work, experience conducting residency activities, capacity to support artists and host multiple artists simultaneously, demonstrated connections within Nordic–Baltic region, and ability to provide artists opportunities to build international networks.
