The Drop, the new digital journal of Petrichor Art & Literary, is accepting submissions for its inaugural October 2026 issue. This open call is dedicated to trans, nonbinary, and queer creators rooted in Kansas and the greater KCMO metro area. The publication aims to amplify voices and serve as a catalyst for local visibility, renaissance, and revolution.

  • Submit one to three images of visual art
  • File formats: JPGs, PNGs, or similar
  • Screen resolution of 300 dpi or less acceptable for initial submission
  • Higher resolution files may be requested if work is accepted for publication
  • Hybrid/blends/mashups welcome; submit as best fit and elaborate in your cover letter
  • Artists may submit in multiple forms
  • Submission deadline for inaugural cover issue consideration: August 21, 2026
  • Inaugural issue publication: October 2026
  • Submission for general visual art calls remains open after August 21
