Overview
The Road To Elefsina is an 8-day artist residency in Athens and Elefsina exploring the Mysteries of art and the Greek myth of death and rebirth. The program aims to expand artists' cultural experiences and enhance understanding of how art and poetry may soothe human agonies through intensive workshops in storytelling, performance, and video.

Eligibility
Open to visual artists, designers, craftspeople, jewelry makers, ceramicists, performers, photographers, filmmakers, and art theorists interested in Greek mythology and the mysteries of transcendence. Minimum age 30 years.
Program Activities
- Guided tours and open air workshops in Athens and Elefsina
- Workshops on the history and mythology of Elefsina
- Narrative, storytelling, concept, and storyboard sessions
- Video and photography workshops
- Concept, idea, and design of objects; video script and shooting
- Publication of participants' work in SMCK Magazine
- Participation in SMCK ON REEL video festival
- Documentation in SMCK Magazine website
Accommodation & Workspace
Studio apartments provided in downtown Athens (Option A) or artists may arrange their own accommodation (Option B). A workspace is included with accommodation. Artists may request to extend their stay for additional days.
Fees
- Option A – Single accommodation in downtown Athens studio: €1,080 (payable in three installments)
- Option B – Artist provides own accommodation: €790 (payable in two installments)
