Overview
The Research & Innovation Faculty Travel Grant program is designed to support faculty in funding travel and related expenses that further the faculty member's research, creative or scholarly activities. Travel support is not restricted to attendance at academic conferences; applications are encouraged to propose travel to conduct research or to visit collaborators or sponsors.

- Award notifications within two weeks after receipt of review committee recommendation

- Hold at least 50% FTE academic faculty appointment in College of Liberal Arts or Reynolds School of Journalism
- Have current role statement including research or professional development responsibilities
- Limited to one proposal per deadline
- Limited to one award every two years

Review criteria
Applications will be reviewed by faculty peers using the following criteria: Is the description of proposed travel clear? Is the description of short-term and long-term outcomes and impact on the faculty member's research, creative or scholarly activities clear and apparent? Is the explanation of how desired outcomes and impact align with strategic goals of the University, college, or department persuasive?
Award conditions and reporting
Funds awarded must be spent within the fiscal year stipulated and for the purpose proposed. All required travel paperwork must be completed and approved according to University travel policies. Awarded funds will be applied to travel costs once the travel request has been processed. Awardees are required to respond to an annual survey requesting details on the outcome of their award.
