Get matched →The Pittsburgh Watercolor Society 52nd Annual Aqueous Open International Exhibit is open to artists 18 or older working primarily with water-based media on paper. The exhibit will be displayed both online and in person at the Manos Art Gallery, 200 Freeport Rd, New Kensington, PA 15068.
Enter online at CaFE (www.callforentry.org) by October 10, 2026. Create a free artist profile, upload 1 or 2 digital images to your portfolio, search for '2026 Aqueous Open International Exhibit,' and follow entry instructions to pay by credit card or check.
Images must be professional quality, showing only the painted image, accurate for color catalog reproduction, and saved in high-quality jpg format. Artists may enter up to 2 pieces. All accepted work must be framed and ready for hanging with wire (no sawtooth hangers). Matting must be white, off-white, or light gray (no colored or double matts). Frames should be simple and black, gray, silver, or gold, no more than 1½ inches wide. Shipped work must be in acrylic or plexiglas only—no glass.

Awards are selected from received work. Over $5,000 in total cash and prize awards are available; Best of Show was $1,400 last year. Awards will be announced at the Opening Reception on November 7, 2026. All work must be for sale at current market value and not concurrently in another exhibit. The artist receives 70% of the sale price (after sales tax), The Manos Art Gallery receives 20%, and Pittsburgh Watercolor Society receives 10%. The artist is responsible for shipping sold paintings to buyers.
Artists exhibiting in Aqueous Open three years out of five become eligible for PWS membership. Members who are accepted three out of five years become Signature members. For membership inquiries, contact [email protected].
