New Foster Gallery Artist Call: Retro Americana at Emerald Coast Theatre Company

Overview

The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County invites current CAA member artists to submit original works for the Foster Gallery Outreach Special Exhibit at Emerald Coast Theatre Company. The Foster Gallery, established in 2016, serves as a platform for showcasing local and regional artists and bringing art into public and community-centered spaces throughout Walton County. This special exhibit pairs visual art with live performance as part of a unique, cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Theme: Retro Americana

Submit original works inspired by Retro Americana—a visual celebration of classic American culture. Explore diners and jukeboxes, classic cars, small-town life, vintage fashion, pop culture icons, and the feeling of the 'good old days,' while reflecting on themes such as memory, nostalgia versus reality, and reinterpretations of old photographs.

Eligibility

Must be a current member of the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County. Members do not have to be local. Online membership is available.

Submission

Submit an online application prior to 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Artists may submit up to three original works.

Key Dates

• Call to artists: December 5, 2025 - January 20, 2026
• Artist notification: January 23, 2026
• Art delivery to ECTC: January 28 & 29 | 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• Exhibit opens: February 3, 2026
• Artist reception: February 12, 2026 | 5:45 - 6:45 p.m.
• Exhibit ends: June 5, 2026
• Mandatory art pickup: June 5 or 9, 2026 | 10:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Exhibition Location

Emerald Coast Theatre Company at 560 Grand Blvd., Ste 200 Upstairs, Miramar Beach, FL 32550. The special themed exhibition will be on view in the ECTC lobby from February 3 through June 5, 2026.

About The Foster Gallery

Established by the CAA in 2016, The Foster Gallery honors founder, artist, and educator Susan Foster and serves as a platform for showcasing local and regional artists. Through the outreach model, artists gain increased visibility and opportunities to exhibit and sell their work while connecting with broader and more diverse audiences beyond a single gallery location.
