Get matched →The Collective Micro-Residency for Expanded Photography is an intensive international program hosted by FotoCreativaBA in downtown Buenos Aires at Galería Patio del Liceo. Designed for photographers, visual artists, researchers, and curators, it offers a dynamic shared environment to expand creative practices and professionalize work through collaborative dialogue and cross-pollination.
The residency operates across three optional one-week cohorts in August and September 2026. It includes specialized experimentation workshops, artwork clinics, project mentorship led by curator and visual artist Natheim, guided gallery tours across Buenos Aires, and a shared weekly local culture calendar. The experience culminates in a collective Open Studio event showcasing residents' work-in-progress to the public.
Open to photographers, visual artists, researchers, and curators at any stage of career based anywhere in the world. Spouses/partners and children allowed for the full stay as non-collaborators. Pets are not allowed.
Applicants must submit a single portfolio PDF under 10MB via email with their brief bio, motivation letter, and preferred timeframe (Period A, B, or C). Applications are fully bilingual (Spanish/English).
Residents gain full access to the shared gallery workspace, digital production tools, and the virtual library. Studios are partially accessible (50% or more). No housing is provided, but the team offers full assistance and trusted local references to book accommodation.
The residency fee for international residents is USD 100 / €90 per week. This covers all expanded photography workshops, portfolio review sessions, curatorial guidance by Natheim, gallery workspace access, city art tours, and coordination of the final collective Open Studio. Accommodation and meals are not included. There is no application fee.

Residents are expected to participate in public programming, the open studio with fellow residents, and are encouraged to give artist talks or presentations and lead workshops for the public.
