About
Program Overview
The Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park offers artist-in-residence positions for ceramic and visual artists. Several Guest Artist positions and approximately 20 Studio Artist positions are available. Residency periods range from 2 months to 1 year, running April 1, 2027 – March 31, 2028. Guest Artists from outside Japan may commence residency on or after July 1, 2027.

- Guest Artists prioritize those with clear motivation, positive contributions to the ceramic community, and experience in ceramics or visual arts

- Studio space (open studio: ¥38,400/month for Studio Artists; exempt for Guest Artists)
- Accommodation (single room ¥20,300/month or twin room ¥26,400/month)
- Technical support and presentation spaces (gallery, hall)
- Production budget, material cost coverage (up to ¥100,000 for Guest Artists), and firing cost coverage (up to ¥110,000 for Guest Artists)
- Travel support (Guest Artists only)
