The Green Box Artist-In-Residency Program offers artists of national and international stature, across diverse disciplines and at any stage in their career, the opportunity to create new works while living in and engaging with the community of Green Mountain Falls at the foot of Pikes Peak. The 2026 residency seeks proposals from artists to transform an interior space into an immersive installation inspired by environments ranging from the Metropolitan Museum of Art's period rooms to the imaginative worlds of Meow Wolf.

Open to artists based anywhere in the world at any stage of career. Collaborative teams may apply. Note: A vehicle is necessary for living in Green Mountain Falls; residents may choose to rent or bring their own.

Community engagement proposals are an important part of the application and residency, reflecting Green Box's commitment to fostering connections between artists and the local community. Only complete applications will be considered.

Private housing will be provided at The Shed, Green Box's dedicated Artist housing. Residents have access to shared and private kitchen facilities. Studio and workshop spaces available include painting workspace (oil), ceramics workspace with anvils and stakes, music/media studio, drawing benches, large sinks, washout room, washer and dryer, and other specialized studios as needed.

Resident artists are provided with stipends: individual artists receive $9,000, duos receive $12,000, three or more artists working together receive $15,000. Stipends are intended to cover travel and materials. There is no application fee.
