Overview

This open ideas competition invites creative and feasible concepts for the artistic and design enhancement of Marie-Luise-Nikuta-Platz. The goal is to create a memorial that honorably and permanently visualizes the life and work of Marie-Luise Nikuta in public space.

Acceptable Concepts

• Monument or sculpture (freestanding sculpture, relief, installation, etc.)
• Ground design (paving, engraving, mosaic, etc.)
• Planting and green design
• Light and sound elements
• Information stele or interactive elements
• Overall design of the square as an integrated concept

Budget Guideline

As a point of orientation, the realization should be possible with a budget of 100-150 TEUR.

Eligibility

The competition is open to natural and legal persons, including artists, designers, architects, students, and interdisciplinary teams. There are no local restrictions.

Submission Details

Interested participants can submit a concept until November 11, 2026. Multiple submissions (maximum two concepts per person/team) are permitted.

Awards

• 1st place: 2,500 EUR
• 2nd place: 1,500 EUR
• 3rd place: 1,000 EUR
