KUNSTFONDS_Stipendium

Overview

The KUNSTFONDS_Stipendium promotes concentrated artistic work and new ideas as a sustainable basis for future freelance work. It is financed by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM) and the Kulturwerk foundation of VG Bild-Kunst.

Eligibility

• Not eligible if received funding from Stiftung Kunstfonds for KUNSTFONDS_Stipendium, KUNSTFONDS_Publikation, or KUNSTFONDS_Werkverzeichnung in 2026.
• Not eligible if received a scholarship from Stiftung Kunstfonds in the last 15 years (2012-2026), including Arbeitsstipendium (until 2022), NEUSTARTplus-Stipendium (2023), and KUNSTFONDS_Stipendium (2024-2026).
• Not eligible if received the HAP Grieshaber-Preis der VG Bild-Kunst.
• Not eligible if simultaneously receiving another scholarship from public or private funds.
• Not eligible if simultaneously receiving a residency with mandatory attendance.
• Not eligible if served on the KUNSTFONDS_Stipendium jury in the last two years.
• Not eligible if an employee of Stiftung Kunstfonds.

Funding Period

The scholarship is granted for the funding year 2027, with an anticipated start date of May 1, 2027. The scholarship period includes six months of funding plus the time for reviewing the final report by Stiftung Kunstfonds. Members of artist duos each receive a scholarship for the same funding period.

Grant Amount

• The scholarship amount is 18,000 Euro.
• The funding amount will be paid in monthly installments.

Final Report

A final report (max. 4,000 characters) must be submitted within two months after the last installment is paid, via the online application portal at bewerbung.kunstfonds.de. Failure to submit the report on time may result in the Stiftung Kunstfonds reclaiming funds.
