The British Pavilion showcases UK artists and architects at the Venice Biennale, one of the world's longest-running cultural festivals. The Biennale runs for six months each year from April or May until November and alternates between visual art and architecture exhibitions.

Lubaina Himid's 'Predicting History: Testing Translation' will be presented at the British Pavilion, La Biennale Arte 2026, until 22 November.

Since 1895, the British Pavilion has featured pioneering British artists and architects. The 2025 exhibition was curated by a team of architects from the UK and Kenya as part of the UK/Kenya Season of Culture. The 2027 exhibition will be a UK-Malaysia collaboration marking 70 years of diplomatic relations.

An annual Fellowships Programme offers emerging creatives a unique opportunity to represent the UK on an international level whilst broadening their perspective, making connections and developing their creative practice.

The Venice Biennale attracts up to 600,000 international visitors each year. The world's top curators organise ambitious exhibitions that set new global trends and help launch the international careers of pioneering artists and architects.
