I’ve Been Here Before: Cathie Jamieson and Jill Price

Overview

I've Been Here Before presents work by Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation artist Cathie Jamieson and Barrie-based artist Jill Price. Both artists employ land-based practices informed by mindfulness and a commitment to environmental protection. Jamieson's installations use materials carefully gathered from her Manitoulin Island forest property, including tree bark, branches, and medicinal plants, drawing on ancestral Indigenous knowledge. Price's sculptural installations are made from discarded materials collected along Ontario shorelines, which she cleans, reuses, and repurposes to reflect on ecological harm and systems of care. The exhibition is curated by Shannon Anderson, AGM Senior Curator.
