Get matched →The Municipality of Zoetermeer is commissioning a public artwork for a new MOTION Beweeg College building (a vmbo secondary school for up to 550 students) and municipal sports hall at Van Doornenplantsoen. The artwork should invite encounter, use, and movement for both students and sports hall users. It will be placed on an earth embankment alongside the school, sports hall, and sports fields, visible from the road and the facilities. The work may consist of multiple parts forming one coherent and recognizable whole. It must be visually attractive, maintain sightlines for safety and social interaction, and facilitate physical engagement between art, public space, and users.
Total budget including honorarium, placement, and installation is maximum 90,000 EUR (excluding VAT). Project starts September 2026 with final delivery expected around September 2027.
Submissions are reviewed by a project group including school and sports hall users, municipal project leaders, advisors, and an external visual arts consultant. Three artists are selected to develop sketch concepts; each receives an honorarium of 3,000 EUR (excluding VAT). Selected artists present their sketches to the project group, which chooses one concept for final development.
