About
Overview
This annual art fair is held on the grounds of Bar Harbor Inn, a premier waterfront luxury hotel in the middle of town. The show features a balanced mix of mediums and has an established draw with both repeat customers and artists. Jurying is by rolling jury, and artists have 2 weeks upon invitation to confirm with payment of their booth space.

Eligibility & Requirements
- Artist must hand-produce artwork using traditional, non-computer-assisted means
- Artwork must contain at least 50% original work by the artist
- No reproductions (with limited exceptions), digital output (except digitally manipulated limited-edition photography), mold-made or buy-sell art permitted
- 2D works must be framed and hung on booth walls
- Only one artist per space unless qualifying as dual entry
- Artist must be present throughout all three days of the show
- Jewelry category is currently sold out
Application
- Apply online through Zapplication
- Submit 5 images of artwork and 1 image of your booth (showing actual shelter and representative art displayed)
- Jury/application fee: $35.00 (non-refundable)
- Attention should be given to the artist's statement
- Artists may apply in different media categories but can only exhibit in the category for which they are accepted
- Exhibited work must be substantively similar to works submitted for jurying
Media Categories
- Fine jewelry: One-of-a-kind items hand-produced by the exhibiting artist; no mold-made or repeated items permitted
- Hand-pulled printmaking: Original hand-pulled prints, signed and numbered; acceptable techniques include intaglio, lithograph, monotype, collograph
- Graphics and 2D mixed-media: Hand drawings, pastels, collages, 2D glass and mosaic work
- Painting: Watercolor, oil, acrylic, gouache and other painting mediums
- Fine photography: True limited-edition photography of high quality (hand-produced/manipulated in the printing process)
- Fine wearables: Hand-made clothing items entirely hand-produced by the artist
- Sculpture, Glass & 3D work: Hand-produced from wood, stone, clay or other acceptable media; loss-wax technique from a mold permitted if original sculpture produced by exhibiting artist; metal and wood assemblages permitted; original glass-work produced by the artist permitted
- Digital art: Any art using computer files or digital output device; may not be represented as limited-edition; if multiple sizes displayed, largest must be framed on booth walls
Display & Booth Requirements
- 2D works must be tastefully framed and hung on booth walls, with only 1 rack permitted for loose unframed items
- Sculpture, 3D works and jewelry must be tastefully arranged on covered tables or pedestals
- Loose artwork may not be displayed on the ground except if approved ground sculpture
- All spaces must have durable (not a garden canopy) white, 10×10 shelters with matching 4 walls
- This is a weights-only show with minimum 30 lbs weight on each corner; no stakes, nails, screws or other devices may be used except on grass areas with electricity
Reproductions Policy
- Reproduction must be of a framed available original on display in the booth; if original is not on display, reproduction may not be sold
- Reproduction must be equal size or less than the original, available in only one size
- All reproductions stored in one rack only and clearly marked as "reproductions"
- Reproductions may NOT be referred to as "limited edition prints" even when numbered
- 2D artists may display up to 1/3 of total framed wall display with reproductions; framed prints must be clearly marked with pricing as "reproductions"
Artist Responsibilities
- Artists must exhibit and be present throughout all three days of the show
- Only artists displaying their own original work may participate; no stand-in or proxy exhibitors allowed
- Artists found in violation of requirements during the show may be asked to remove offending items or be ejected without refund
- Failure to comply with presence requirement may result in ineligibility for future shows or dismissal without refund
