About
Overview
Marion Cultural Alliance at Brick City Center for the Arts seeks fine arts and artisan crafts for The Shop, a consignment gallery in downtown Ocala. MCA carefully selects items that showcase technical skill, quality, broad retail appeal, and unique character.
Mediums Accepted
- Original paintings, drawings, and photographs
- Jewelry, ceramics, glass, wood, and metal
- Artist-made notecards, reproduction prints, and textiles
- Artist-made wearables and home décor items
- Holiday items and uniquely Ocala items
- Contact MCA if you have something not listed
Eligibility
Must be an active MCA artist member. Local and regional artists can join online anytime at mcaocala.org/membership starting at $35 per year.
Size & Submission Requirements
- Maximum 10 original works per artist
- Suggested size up to 20" (including frame) in any direction
- Artwork must be handmade and original—no kits or mass-produced items
- Artwork must be display-ready
- Submit through ArtCall with high-res images, contact info, title, dimensions, sale price, and brief artist statement/bio
Key Dates
- Submission deadline: September 14, 2026 by 11:59 pm
- Artists notified: September 19, 2026 by 6pm
- Artwork drop-off: September 22–26, 2026
- Exhibition: October 2, 2026 – January 16, 2027
Compensation
The sale of artwork is split with 70% going to the artist and 30% to support MCA's mission. Checks will be processed and mailed out by the 15th of the month following the sale date.
Submission Process
Apply through ArtCall only by midnight on September 14, 2026. Selected applicants must drop off pre-approved pieces September 22–26. New artists will receive a Consignment Agreement and must bring a Submission Confirmation receipt for each approved artwork and complete the Inventory Sheet clearly with price and inventory number.
