Overview
Fronteer Gallery is seeking artwork for a Windows & Doors exhibition. Artists are free to interpret the theme in any way they like. Work can be in any medium, except audio or video. Artists from all backgrounds are invited to submit one piece of work each.

Eligibility & Access
Any UK-based artist is welcome. Please note: the gallery is upstairs with no disabled access.
Media & size requirements
- Wall mounted work: any size or shape, but no more than 70×70cm of wall space
- Sculptural work: no bigger than 50cm height × 30cm width × 30cm depth
- All work must be ready to display and complete at time of submission
- Canvas prints are not accepted; if submitting a print, you must print and prepare it yourself
Submission requirements
Submit up to 3 images: one showing the whole piece and up to two showing details. Provide a short description of no more than 100 words to be displayed with your work. Be clear about how your work hangs or stands.
Fees & awards
- Application: free
- Selected artist fee: £35 (due by 19th September)
- Includes: event evening with free drinks, invigilation, and online promotion via social media (5,000–6,000 Instagram followers across two accounts, plus Facebook, YouTube, and Threads)
- Sales commission: 10% if work is sold during exhibition
Delivery & collection
Successful artists may send work by post (must arrive by 19th September) or deliver in person during gallery hours 10th–19th September. Work can be collected 27th October – 11th November during opening hours, or returned by post at artist's expense (£4 handling fee plus Tracked 48 postage; larger parcels via Parcelforce Express 48).
About Fronteer
Fronteer is a husband-and-wife artist-led initiative operating an artist-led gallery in Orchard Square, Sheffield city centre since 2022. The gallery has two exhibition spaces and typically receives over 300 visitors per three-week exhibition; private view events attract up to 100+ visitors.
