Get matched →A two-phase public art competition for the design and realization of artistic facade treatments on three prefabricated apartment buildings in Wittenberge. The project, titled 'Everyday and Utopia – Contemporary Facade Art on Prefabricated Buildings,' will welcome the 8th Brandenburg State Garden Show in 2027 and celebrate the architectural heritage of DDR-era construction.
Open to professional visual artists (EU-wide). Submissions must be in German. By participating, artists agree to the contest terms and conditions.
Selected artists who complete Phase 2 requirements on time, in full, and with scorable deliverables receive 1,000 EUR (including VAT), which will be credited toward the final commission fee.

Submit all Phase 1 materials through the Brandenburg procurement marketplace (Vergabemarktplatz Brandenburg). Questions may be submitted and are answered publicly for all interested applicants.
This project supports the 8th Brandenburg State Garden Show's focus on urban development, sustainability, and revitalization of public spaces. Drawing on the visual language of DDR art—particularly monumental murals, mosaics, and graphic design—the selected artist(s) will create site-specific facade works that respectfully reinterpret the architectural and social significance of prefabricated construction and culturally enhance the public realm. The project is funded by the Ostdeutsche Sparkassenstiftung in partnership with Sparkasse Prignitz.
