Overview
Kunstkammer invites artists to submit work for MEDEA, a group exhibition that approaches the ancient Greek myth of Medea as a field of emotional, psychological, and elemental states. A submitted work does not need to depict Medea or reference a specific episode of the myth; its relationship to the exhibition may emerge through psychological condition, state of nature, bodily sensation, gesture, landscape, material, change of light, or charged atmosphere. Priority will be given to works that are visually rigorous, emotionally precise, materially convincing, and open enough to resist a single interpretation.

- Based in Texas
- At least three years of active artistic practice
- Work in one or more eligible media: painting, sculpture, analog photography, or video art
- Able to provide selected work by September 25, 2026

- The ancient Greek myth of Medea approached not as narrative to be illustrated, but as a field of emotional, psychological, and elemental states—exile, betrayal, desire, grief, vengeance, maternal force, rupture, transformation, and fate. Works should engage the myth on a sensual level through color, surface, scale, rhythm, silence, movement, or physical presence to create an emotional encounter.

- Applicants must be based in Texas, have at least three years of active artistic practice, work in painting, sculpture, analog photography, or video art, and be able to provide selected work by September 25, 2026.
