Aviário Studio invites artists to apply for an intaglio printmaking residency, offering technical conditions, time, and space to develop ideas and explore new approaches in a variety of artistic disciplines.
The Aviário Studio Intaglio Printmaking Residency aims to promote exploration and production in the Printmaking field, with a focus on intaglio techniques. The studio offers technical conditions, time, and space to develop ideas and try new approaches, fostering connection and exchange between artists from different backgrounds. It can serve as a moment for experimentation and research or for the consolidation and production of new work.

Duration of Residency
The residency duration can range from 2 weeks up to 6 months.
Accommodation
Artists can choose to stay at Aviário Studio’s shared guest house, located in the center of Ferreira do Zêzere, 2 km (20 min walk) from the studio. The house includes a living room, equipped kitchen, bathroom, toilet, three bedrooms, outside space, and free Wi-Fi. Residents are responsible for bed-making and maintaining cleanliness. Renting a car is advised due to limited public transport.

Studio / Workspace
Aviário Studio is located in the countryside of Portugal, 2 km (1.24 mi) from Ferreira do Zêzere town. The renovated aviary building consists of workshops with common and individual workspaces. There is a common area with a kitchen and three toilets (one accessible), a room for large projects, and four equipped workshops (two for image work, two for object work). A large outside space is also available.
