About
Overview
This is a territory-based artist residency hosted at the Musée Marc Deydier in Cucuron, offered by voyons voir art contemporain et territoire. The selected artist, duo, or collective will develop a research and creation project around the museum's new permanent exhibition space "Au fil de l'eau" (Along the Water), which explores a thousand years of water-related heritage in the Cucuron area — from historic flour mills and the town's landmark étang (pond), to fountains, bastide basins, and 19th-century public wash-houses and fountains.
Project Requirements
The artist is asked to integrate a class of pupils from Cucuron's elementary school into the project and to involve local cultural actors (cinema, media library, etc.) as far as possible. Of the residency's 6 weeks, 70% of time is allocated to research and creation, and 30% to public-facing cultural actions.
