Get matched →The Vermont Art Council's Artists in Schools grant program supports high-quality, multiday arts experiences in schools across the state with Vermont teaching artists in residence. Residencies take place during the school day or in a sequential, after-school setting, often culminating in performances and presentations.
These residencies support both arts and non-arts classrooms and connect to classroom learning, student wellness, building school culture, and much more. They help youth to create and express ideas, foster broader connections with the school and community, build confidence, integrate multidisciplinary learning, and help students understand themselves and their peers.
Grants of up to $4,000 are available to support eligible projects typically between three to 10 days in length. Funds are primarily to be used to support teaching artist fees for instruction and planning, with a smaller amount for materials. A limited amount of funding is still available.
Schools, municipalities, and eligible organizations may apply.
