The Treviso Comic Book Festival (TCBF) invites emerging comic artists and creative teams to create an original short comic story for the International Competition for New Authors/Autrices TCBF 2026, themed 'Relations.' The competition is free to enter and open to Italian and international participants.

Participants may interpret the theme 'Relations' freely—exploring relationships between people, communities, families, societies, environments, ideas, or fictional characters. Stories may be inspired by real events or entirely fictional. Submissions must be 2-4 pages, presented as a single PDF, in black and white or color, with text in Italian or English. Artists may work in any drawing and coloring technique.

Applicants must be emerging/non-professional comic authors, age 18+ as of September 1, 2026. To qualify, applicants must not have or previously have had an employment contract in comic drawing or writing, published with national or international publishers, authored or co-authored books with an ISBN, or published in newspapers or magazines. Both individual artists and collaborative teams are welcome; all team members must meet eligibility requirements.

Each submission must be a complete, original, previously unpublished comic story. Participants may not reproduce or trace existing works, and use of artificial intelligence is expressly prohibited. Only one work per individual author or team may be submitted. Teams may combine different creative roles (writer, artist, colorist).

Winners receive cash prizes and publication through TCBF channels. First Prize: €500, Second Prize: €300, Third Prize: €200. For team submissions, members decide how to divide prize money. All winners receive public recognition at the Premio Carlo Boscarato 2026 ceremony and publication of winner information on the TCBF website. The jury may also award special mentions; mentioned works will be published through TCBF channels.
