Overview

Fifth edition of Warsaw's doctoral stipend program. The program promotes Warsaw as a location for interesting research and develops cooperation with young researchers. Nearly 150 applications were received in the previous four editions, with 20 stipends awarded. This year the city plans to award 11 stipends.

Eligibility

Doctoral candidates from throughout Poland are invited to apply.

Award

Stipends up to 30,000 PLN each. Eleven stipends will be awarded in this edition.

Research Areas

• Smart City (IT Office): Open data, digital leadership in public entities, use of city applications, ESG standards
• Public Transport Development (Infrastructure Office): Analysis of P+R parking utilization
• Culture Development (Culture Office): Participation of migrants and refugees in culture, cultural institutions, inclusive language
• Spatial Policy (Architecture and Urban Planning Office): Housing demand, light pollution and suburbanization, urban agriculture, animal-vehicle collisions
• Innovation Support (Economic Development Office): Behavioral economics, Warsaw food system analysis

Applications are accepted on the City Stipend Program for Doctoral Candidates website. The city offers consultations with department specialists. Research area descriptions and meeting dates are available on the program website.
