Overview

DIOD is a cultural centre in a renovated Sokol Hall in Jihlava, Czech Republic, offering a well-equipped black box space for independent art, theater, and dance projects. It opened on 1 April 2011 and is operated by Sokol Gymnastics Jihlava in partnership with the City of Jihlava.

Studio & Facilities

  • Black box (12 × 18 m) with flexible wooden platforms and adjustable leg heights (20–100 cm)
  • Two rectangular ceiling constructions for aerial arts at 5.7 m height with permanent attachments
  • Fixed projection screen (10 × 3.5 m)
  • Dressing room and kitchen; coffee shop/bar on-site
  • Dance cushion floor (8 × 12 m)
  • Lighting and sound equipment available for rent
  • Option to rent outdoor aerial arts structure with landing surfaces, silks, hoop, and trapeze

Residency Schedule

  • Weekly residency available on select dates during summer holidays
  • During school year: 4 days only (Thursday to Sunday)
