The Edward F. Albee Foundation provides time and space for writers and visual artists to work without disturbance, using talent and need as selection criteria. The William Flanagan Memorial Creative Persons Center (The Barn) in Montauk, Long Island, can accommodate four creative persons at a time. Residencies are for calendar-month periods (with rare, pre-approved exceptions). Located approximately two miles from Montauk center and the Atlantic Ocean, The Barn offers a secluded, peaceful atmosphere with private en-suite bedrooms and separate working studios.

Open to writers and visual artists based anywhere in the world at any stage of career. Selection based on talent and need. Both emerging and mid-career artists encouraged to apply. Must be able to take full credit for work samples; no collaborations unless applying as a team.
