Open to all artists in the United States. This juried show explores the theme of Seasons through original 2D paintings. The exhibition will take place both online and in person at the Rhode Island Watercolor Society gallery in Pawtucket.

Spring, summer, fall and winter; all remind us of the beauty in transformation, the passage of time, and constant cycles of nature. What memories and images are conjured during your favorite season?

  • Submission deadline: September 4, 2026
  • Drop-off/shipping dates: September 10 – October 4, 2026 (Thursdays & Fridays 10am–4pm, Saturdays 10am–3pm)
  • Notification of acceptance: September 10, 2026
  • Exhibition dates: October 3 – November 6, 2026
  • Show opening reception: Saturday, October 10 at 1pm
  • Pick-up date: Friday, November 6, 10am–4pm
  • Return shipping period: November 6 – December 6, 2026
  • Maximum size: 48 inches on the longest side (including frame)
  • Minimum size: 5 inches on the shortest side (excluding frame)
  • Framing: Work must be framed or professionally presented. Frames may not be wider than 1.5 inches. Framed work must be under glass/Plexiglass (except canvas, wood, or board). Must be wired with no wire or hanger showing when hung.
  • Open to all artists in the United States
  • Work must not have been exhibited in a previous Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show
  • Work must have been completed within the last 10 years
  • Work may not be copied from copyrighted material
  • No work partially or wholly painted by another
  • No work created under the direct guidance of another or by following a tutorial
  • No work created in a class or workshop under a teacher's supervision
  • All entries must be original paintings created from the artist's own reference material
  • Entry fee: $20 per entry for non-members, $15 per entry for members
  • Over $500 in cash prizes

Submit 1–3 digital images of your work. No form questions required; skip that section and proceed to choosing work samples. Artwork should be well represented by the digital images submitted. No altered digital images may be submitted. Work must be the same work represented by submitted images and the same size as indicated in the submission form.

If shipping, send to: Rhode Island Watercolor Society, Slater Memorial Park, 831 Armistice Blvd., Pawtucket, RI 02861. Include a pre-paid return label and send tracking number to [email protected] with subject line 'Tracking.' Avoid packing peanuts/Styrofoam when possible. Pieces received late will not be hung.
