The Dorothy Antoinette LaSelle Foundation has established the Dorothy Antoinette LaSelle Travel Fellowship recognizing the impact that travel can have on an artist's career. In fall 2026, two awards of $5,000 each will be distributed to visual artists working and residing in Texas, enabling recipients to complete a research trip to further their artistic practice.

  • Submission deadline: August 31, 2026
  • Awardees notified: November 2, 2026
  • Must currently reside in Texas and have lived there for the past year
  • Be a practicing professional visual artist with at least 3 solo or group exhibitions in the past 3 years (BFA/MFA and juried exhibitions are eligible)
  • Must currently hold a degree in the arts
  • Image thumbnails of a maximum of 4 works with identifying title, date, medium, and dimensions
  • Artist CV
  • Reference contact list with 2 reference names, email addresses/phone numbers and relationship to the artist
  • Project proposal (2000 characters or less) including: statement on why the fellowship would be important to you and your practice, statement about your goals for the travel fellowship, and when the proposed travel would take place
  • Copy of valid Texas driver's license or proof of one year Texas residency

Two $5,000 awards will be distributed. There is no application fee.
