Das Gesamtwerk von Christophe Hohler zeugt von seiner persönlichen Entwicklung, die sich nun in der Frontalität des Gemäldes zeigt. Die Verkürzung der Malerei lässt die anatomische Realität beiseite und evoziert mehr Nacktheit. Warten, Meditieren, Beobachten, Spazierengehen, Lesen ... auf diese Weise stellt er die Figur zugunsten der bloßen Bildtatsache zurück. Sein Ziel ist es, eine prägnante Malerei zu präsentieren, in der Farben und Materialien fast zur Auslöschung des Themas führen.
