Argo residencies provide time and space to develop your practice in a social, supportive, and stimulating environment. Self-directed residencies allow you to focus on a project or practice of your own choice, with personalized support from the Argo team, connections with local artists and curators, and a warm community. One space is available for spring 2026.

Work and stay in the heart of Athens, Greece, a short walk from amazing museums, dozens of contemporary art galleries, project spaces and performance venues, with a strong tradition of political engagement and a vibrant nightlife and queer scene.

Spring session: 25 May to 17 June 2026.

We welcome artists, writers, thinkers, academics, performers, dancers, directors, and other creative practitioners aged 18+. We can accommodate painting, drawing, writing, research, performance, sculpture, dance, and textile craft. Studio setups include tables, easels, lamps, and storage, plus access to a wood shop with tools and safety gear. AV equipment, TVs, microphone, and amp are available. Bring your own art supplies; six art supply shops are within walking distance. Interested in specific performance or dance rehearsal space? Let us know.

Private and shared studios available with tables, easels, lamps, storage, access to shared woodshop, reading/writing room and library, and views of Lycabettus Hill. The studios are filled with light and a 20-minute walk from accommodations through a lush park.

Housed in the creative neighborhood of Kypseli, accommodations span two apartments in a 1928 neoclassical building with two bathrooms, two kitchens, a living room, and two balconies overlooking Plateia Agiou Georgiou square. The square is full of bars, cafes, restaurants, and an impressive cathedral.

Optional regular events include monthly shared dinners with fellow residents, contemporary art tours to galleries and studios, day trips to museums or archaeological sites, and Open Studios to share your work with the public.

Private bedroom: €65 per night or €455 per week. Shared bedroom: €50 per night or €350 per week. Includes accommodation, bills, studio access, monthly events, and woodshop access. Budget €100–€300 per week for food. Argo can provide a letter of support for artists seeking funding.
