Get matched →ADAGP and Cité internationale des arts are launching the sixth edition of a support programme for three artists based outside the Île-de-France region, enabling them to benefit from a three-month research residency and professional support. This residency aims to meet the specific needs of artists wishing to draw on the Parisian context and network. One of the three residencies will be awarded to an emerging photographer (maximum 5 years of professional activity) whose project addresses the theme of ecological issues.
This programme is open to visual artists (painting, sculpture, photography, video, performance, comics, etc.) from the French art scene (who have been working or living in France for at least 5 years, or who are French nationals living abroad), living in France but outside the Île-de-France region, who have never been represented by a gallery in the Île-de-France region, and who have never held a residency at the Cité internationale des arts, with no age limit. For one of the three residencies, the applicant must be an emerging photographer (with no more than five years’ professional experience) and submit a project addressing environmental issues. The jury will assess the applicant’s professional background, the artistic quality of the project, the added value of the residency in Paris, the proposed working method, and any established contacts or partnerships.

Laureates will be hosted in live-in studios on the Marais site of the Cité internationale des arts. Ranging from 25 to 40m², the studios combine research-creation and daily life, and include a work space, kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping area. Each studio can accommodate up to two adults and one child under 10. Additional fees apply for companions and visitors. Group applications for projects involving more than two artists are exceptional due to limited suitable studio-flats; the grant will be shared between collaborators.
