We warmly invite female mid-career artists aged 35+ to submit work for Oud of Sight: 4 pop-up group exhibitions celebrating seasoned artists who have mastered the art of surviving trends, age expectations, unsolicited feedback, unpaid art jobs, and being politely overlooked. Oud of Sight is a series of 4 exhibitions for professional female artists over 35, 45, 55, 65, 75, 85,… whose work has outgrown invisibility, apology, and the exhausting performance of staying eternally ‘emerging’. Playfully referencing the Flemish word oud (old), this exhibition aims to challenge the quiet assumption that cultural relevance belongs to the young, the loud, or the algorithmically blessed. We are interested in work with substance made by professional artists living in Belgium who have evolved technical skill, good stories, bad knees, and who no longer make themselves smaller to fit the room. We are interested in artists who are too seasoned to ask for permission, too curious to stand still, and far too alive to disappear into the background. Oud of Sight is NOT a nostalgia act. It is a collective reminder that relevance does not expire. Feel like you fit the bill, come take up space with us! Send one document (MAX 5MB) to [email protected] by October 31st 2026. Please include: your artist statement (maximum 250 words) links to your website and socials birthdate and where you are currently based pictures of three key works including date, material and dimensions Please note: The exhibitions will take place every quarter of 2027 in Antwerp. (Exact dates will follow.) You must be able to bring and pick up your own art work. There is no compensation. As an artist, you are free to chose wether you want to sell the works on display or not.
