Overview
LIMEN is a two-week artist and researcher residency in Sardinia, Italy, launching its first edition in October 2026. Participants work independently while being guided by Linda Paganelli, a visual anthropologist and filmmaker, in a residency built around the idea of uninterrupted time to think, create, and be transformed by place. The program prioritizes process over presentation, with no public showing required at the end.

- Location: Casa M, Siddi, Sardinia, Italy (village in the Marmilla sub-region, about 50 km from Cagliari)
- Residency dates: 4–17 October 2026
Eligibility
Open to conceptual artists, mixed media artists, land artists, visual artists, filmmakers, photographers, researchers, designers, illustrators, composers, community makers, or writers. Applicants should be drawn to questions of memory — personal, collective, or both — and bring a political and queer reading of their material. No prior experience with anthropological or ethnographic methods is required.

Memory — personal and collective — explored through a political and queer lens attentive to visibility, erasure, belonging, and how power writes itself onto bodies, landscapes, and relationships, in dialogue with the specific place of Sardinia.

Fee & Cancellation
- Application fee: €1,100–1,600 (sliding scale, includes studio space, room, and full board); flights and travel to Sardinia not included
- Sliding-scale fee structure and flexible payment arrangements available on request
- Full refund if withdrawn within 7 days of acceptance (if more than 2 weeks before arrival)
- Full refund minus €50 administrative fee for cancellations more than 30 days before arrival (before 4 September)
- 50% refund for cancellations between 30 and 14 days before arrival (4–20 September)
- Non-refundable within 14 days of arrival (after 20 September)
- Full refund if LIMEN cancels; genuine emergencies considered case by case
