The exhibition considers how traces of experience continue to exist through memory, material, gesture, and form, and how artists engage with what is preserved, inherited, transformed, or left behind. Across traditional and digital media, artworks can become sites where presence and absence intersect, revealing how the past continues to shape our understanding of the present. Artists Jennifer Ling Datchuk, Kazuhito Kawai, and Yeonsu Ju, together with Ben Hsiao, Founder and Director of Artemin Gallery, have been invited as jurors for this open call. Bringing perspectives across artistic and institutional practices, their selections will reflect the exhibition’s interest in diverse approaches to memory, transformation, and the traces that endure over time. What Remains seeks works that consider remnants not simply as evidence of what has been lost, but as active forms through which experiences can be revisited, reinterpreted, and given new meaning.
