Overview

Innovate Grant offers quarterly, unrestricted cash grants to one visual artist and one photographer. The program is designed around a simplified application requiring only an applicant's name, email, grant category, and images of work—no artist statement, project proposal, or letters of recommendation.

Award & Benefits

  • 1 × $1,800.00 USD grant to a Visual Artist per quarterly cycle

  • 18 × Honorable Mentions per cycle (9 in Art, 9 in Photography)

  • All applicants retain full rights to their work

Eligibility

Open to visual artists and photographers 18 years or older, from around the world (US and international applicants both eligible). Artist duos, collaborations, and collectives are eligible to apply. Applicants may submit multiple applications within the same cycle and may apply to both the Art and Photography categories. Previous grant winners may apply again only after 5 years from receiving their initial award and must submit new work.

  • Photography: Portrait, Conceptual, Still Life, Black + White, Documentary, Street, Composite, Collage

Application Requirements

  • Name, Email, Grant Category (Art or Photography)
  • Website/Instagram (optional)
  • 3–10 images of work
  • Captions (optional)
  • Images should be at least 2,000 pixels on the longest side and under 2MB
  • For video submissions, paste video URLs into the Work Captions field and upload at least one still image from the video work

Key Dates

  • Summer 2026 cycle deadline: 17 September 2026
  • Grant cycles run quarterly: Winter (Jan–Mar), Spring (Apr–Jun), Summer (Jul–Sep), Fall (Oct–Dec)

Fee

$35.00 (Non-refundable). Each individual application requires its own fee.
