Overview
TOKYO CITY CANVAS is a cultural initiative by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government that supports art projects utilizing temporary enclosures and protective curtains at construction sites to expand the landscape of art in the city and create attractive urban spaces.
Grant Support
- Up to 1/2 of production and construction costs
- Up to 3 million yen separately for art and design production costs (commissions for artists and designers, creation planning expenses, etc.)
Eligibility
Private companies, private company groups, councils, arts organizations, executive committees, etc., with headquarters or head office located in Tokyo. Individuals cannot be applicants.
Project Requirements
- Art project that enhances city attractiveness by utilizing temporary enclosures and protective curtains at construction sites in Tokyo
- Project must have completed (or be expected to complete by implementation) legally required procedures for permissions under the Outdoor Advertisement Ordinance and Landscape Ordinance
