Aviário Studio Ceramics Figure Sculpting Residency provides technical conditions, time, and space for artists to develop ideas and explore figure sculpting in clay. The program is customized according to the artist's goals regarding duration, outcome, and focus. It can serve as a moment of experimentation and learning or as consolidation of a project into a new body of work.
Residency Length & Dates
Residency lengths range from 2 to 6 weeks, with a minimum of 3 weeks required. Check-in and check-out dates are customized and must be confirmed after application.
Eligibility
- Open to artists based anywhere in the world
- Any stage of career (emerging, mid-career, established)
- Must be over 21 years old at arrival
- Spouses/partners allowed for full stay (non-collaborators)
- Artists must be able to cover costs of residency fee, travel, materials, and food

- Application fee: Free
- Residency fee: 2 weeks - 600 €; 3 weeks - 900 €; 4 weeks - 1200 €; 5 weeks - 1500 €; 6 weeks - 1800 €
- Studio support (training or assistance): 20€ per hour
- Materials and meals not included
Accommodation & Facilities
Private bedroom in a shared housing facility on campus. Residents have access to shared kitchen but no meals are provided.
Equipment & Studio Resources
- 3 electric pottery wheels
- Electric kiln (1260°) 220L
- Electric kiln (1050°) 160L
- Studio access during opening hours (Mon.-Fri. from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
- Access to workshops and equipment according to participant experience
