Aviário Studio Ceramics Figure Sculpting Residency

Overview

Aviário Studio Ceramics Residency is a customized program promoting exploration and production in figure sculpting in clay. The residency provides technical conditions, time, and space to develop ideas, and fosters connection and knowledge exchange among artists from different backgrounds.

Residency Details

The program can be a moment of transition focused on experimentation, research, and learning new techniques, or a point of consolidation for producing a new body of work.

• Submission deadline: September 10, 2026
• Duration: 2 weeks - 6 months (minimum 3 weeks for ceramics)

Eligibility

• Open to artists based anywhere in the world
• Any stage of career (emerging, mid-career, established)
• Must be over 21 years old at time of arrival
• Spouses/partners allowed for full stay (non-collaborators)
• Pets are not allowed

Available Equipment

• Electric Kiln (1260º) 220L
• Electric Kiln (1050º) 160L
• 3 electric Pottery Wheels
• Additional shared workshops including printmaking, wood shop, and glass facilities

Fees & Costs

• Application fee: Free
• Residency fee: 2 weeks - 600 €; 3 weeks - 900 €; 4 weeks - 1200 €; 5 weeks - 1500 €; 6 weeks - 1800 €
• Studio support (training/assistance): 20€ per hour
• Materials and meals not included; precise quotation provided after application

Housing & Facilities

• Private bedroom in shared housing facility on campus
• Access to shared kitchen; no meals provided
• Partially accessible (50% or more)
• Exhibition/installation space available
