Get matched →Science and Technology Sustained Support provides general operating funds to nonprofit organizations across King County that deliver science and technology-focused programs and services for the benefit of the public. Sustained Support 2025-2027 awards have been announced; organizations in that group do not need to reapply. Organizations not currently funded may apply in fall 2025 for funding in 2026-2027.
Funding supports a variety of expenses including operating costs related to science and technology programs, staff salaries, utilities, supplies, fees, and services accessible to King County residents and visitors.
Applications are evaluated on organizational resilience and adaptability, demonstrated public benefit through reduced cost or free admission/programs, commitment to advancing equity, economic impact, tangible contribution to the science and technology field, and addressing gaps in public understanding of science and technology.
Additional funding is available for organizations based outside Seattle city limits and those serving marginalized communities including women, people affected by structural racism, and LGBTQ+ communities. Organizations excelling in advancing equity receive an Equity Investment score. Communities of Opportunity locations are eligible for additional funds.
