Get matched →The 52nd Annual Juried University of Wyoming Student Exhibition is a highlight of the University of Wyoming Art Museum’s exhibition program, presenting artwork from selected University of Wyoming students. The 2027 exhibition is juried by Fonda Portales, Director of University Art at Boise State University, and will be organized around work exploring “traces.” The exhibition provides a professional development opportunity for students to present their work in a museum setting. Works not selected for the museum exhibition will be presented in a Salon des Refusés organized by the Student Art League.
This year’s exhibition will be organized around work exploring the theme of Traces. This theme can be broadly interpreted to encompass work that investigates memory, personal histories, inherited traditions, and the passage of time, considering how the past leaves its mark on the present through the things we preserve, the places we inhabit, and the experiences we carry with us.
Any undergraduate, graduate, or post-doctoral student attending any college or outreach school in the University of Wyoming system may participate in the Juried Student Exhibition. You must be registered for classes during the Spring 2027 semester to be eligible for awards.
Original artwork including: paintings, drawings, prints, photography, sculpture, graphic design, ceramics, mixed media, or video may be submitted. Two-dimensional works must be ready to hang prior to submission (matted and framed under glass or Plexiglas where appropriate). All three-dimensional works must be stable. Pedestals will be provided by the UW Art Museum.
A maximum of three (3) works per student may be submitted for consideration. Title, date, size (H x W x D), and medium must be provided. All works must specify a price or be listed as Not for Sale (NFS), and an additional insurance value must also be provided. Applicants must fill in all required information and submit accurate images.
Scholarship and purchase awards will be announced Thursday, February 18, 2027 at 6pm during the exhibition opening reception at the Art Museum.
