About the Exhibition
The exhibition showcases Anne Healy's practice from the 1970s, when she created dynamic works sewn from lightweight nylon spinnaker sailcloth. By highlighting this decade of her career, the exhibition demonstrates how she defines the artist as an actor and considers the audience to be a crucial component of her practice. Outdoor works, such as Squeeze Play (1972), exemplify her daring public interventions through scale and material. Indoor works, often made from chiffon fabric and aluminum rods, include pieces such as Motet and Georgia, lit from multiple angles as if in a stage set.
